# What if I cannot sign in or open a file in Meses?

Most access problems in Meses come down to three checks: you signed in with the Google account invited to your workspace, the connected Google account has permission to the file, and the chosen workbook contains the expected records. If a sheet update reports a conflict, check the spreadsheet before retrying anything.

## In short

- Sign in with the Google account invited to your workspace.
- File access depends on the connected Google account.
- On a conflict, check the sheet before retrying.

## 1. Sign in to the right workspace

- Access to Meses is by invitation during the pilot.
- Sign in with the Google account invited to your workspace.
- If you signed in with another account, sign out and use the invited account.
- If the right account has no workspace membership, ask your workspace administrator to invite or add it.

## 2. Check Google file access

- Google file access is tied to the account you connected.
- If Meses cannot open a selected file, verify that account has permission to the workbook.
- Reconnect from My account settings or the Google Sheets source card and choose the file again.
- More in [how to connect Google Sheets](/en/help/connect-google-sheets).

## 3. Resolve source detection issues

- If a sheet cannot be located reliably, check that the selected workbook contains the expected resident and monthly payment records.
- Select the correct workbook or one of the suggested sheets.
- Meses stops when it cannot validate the source; it does not guess a sheet mapping.

## 4. Handle conflicts or uncertain results

- If an apply or undo reports a conflict or uncertain result, check the Google Sheet before retrying.
- A later spreadsheet edit can block undo so that newer work is not overwritten.
- See [how to apply and undo changes](/en/help/applying-and-undoing-changes) to understand each state.
