# How do I read reconciliation results in Meses?

Reconciliation results group every statement deposit by its outcome: matched when it already has a resident assignment, suggested when Meses proposes a match that needs your confirmation, and needs review when there is no reliable match. You can open any payment, inspect its evidence and decide what to do with it.

## In short

- Every deposit is matched, suggested or left for review.
- You can confirm, reassign or classify any payment.
- Manual decisions never inflate the automatic-match count.

## 1. Understand payment statuses

- Matched payments have a resident assignment and a per-period allocation.
- Suggested matches still need your review before they count as confirmed.
- Items without a reliable match remain open for you to resolve.
- Income that is not dues, such as interest or refunds, can be classified as other income.

## 2. Review a payment

- Open a payment to inspect its date, amount, full reference and matching evidence.
- The evidence explains in plain language why Meses proposes that match, and which sheet, row and cell each figure comes from.
- You can confirm a suggestion, assign a resident and balanced allocation, classify other income, or reopen an earlier manual decision.
- Before saving, Meses shows the exact resident, period and amounts so you can confirm.
- Manual resolutions are identified separately from automatic matches.

## 3. Use filters and totals

- Use the payment filters to focus on matched, suggested, needs-review or unmatched items.
- The totals always reflect the current saved assignments, including your manual decisions.
- A manual decision does not increase the automatic-match count.
- When everything is resolved and agrees with the bank's printed total, the totals panel turns green.
- Once the results are reviewed, you can [apply the changes to your sheet](/en/help/applying-and-undoing-changes).
