What is Meses and who builds it?

Meses (meses.ai) is AI software for collections reconciliation: it matches every deposit on your bank statement to the customer and period it pays for, and brings your records up to date. It is built by a team that started in Mexico, with the aim of making a month's reconciliation take minutes rather than days, while your team keeps the final word.

Why Meses exists

In many businesses that collect every month, someone spends days with the bank statement on one screen and the collections sheet on the other. They look up a 3,000-peso deposit, try to work out whether it came from the family paying two tuitions or from the tenant who always pays late, and type it in by hand. References arrive incomplete, sometimes a third party pays, and sometimes one transfer covers two months.

Meses is the AI platform for collections reconciliation in Latin America: it matches bank-statement deposits to what customers owe (dues, tuition, rent, instalments or invoices) and updates your records in minutes.

The product in one paragraph

Meses reads your bank statement PDF and your records in Google Sheets, Excel or CSV; AI proposes which customer and period each deposit belongs to, your team reviews the proposals, and Meses writes approved payments back to your sheet, with undo. We walk through it step by step on the bank reconciliation page.

Who Meses is built for

Meses serves any business that expects recurring payments or invoices and receives them by transfer or deposit: schools, condominiums, distributors, property managers, academies, gyms, clinics and accounting firms. Each of these collects differently, but they share the same problem of turning bank deposits into named, applied payments.

Condominium administrators feel the problem with particular clarity: dozens of units, fees that change, third-party payments and an owners' assembly that wants clear accounts.

Four principles behind the product

  1. AI proposes, people decide. AI proposes and people decide: nothing is written to your sheet until your team reviews and approves the changes.
  2. Your sheet stays yours. Meses works on your Google Sheets or Excel file; it does not force you onto another system.
  3. Nothing invented. When there is not enough evidence to assign a payment, it is left for review. Unknown history is treated as unknown, never as unpaid.
  4. Privacy by design. The PDF is never sent to an AI provider, and your personal data is protected before any analysis. The details are on our security page.

About the name

"Meses" means "months" and is an everyday word in Mexico, best known from "meses sin intereses", interest-free instalments at checkout. To avoid confusion we always write Meses (meses.ai). You may also see us as meses. or Meses AI. We are a software product for reconciling collections; we are not a bank, we do not lend and we do not process payments.

What we publish and what we never publish

The guides on this site explain how reconciliation and collections work in Mexico, using invented examples and round numbers. We do not publish customer data, internal test results or accuracy figures we cannot back up. When a guide cites a rule from the SAT (Mexico's tax authority) or Banxico (the central bank), it links the official source with the date we checked it. The English guides explain Mexican banking terms for teams working from abroad.
