How do I connect Google Sheets to Meses?
To connect Google Sheets, open My account settings or the Google Sheets source card, authorise your Google account and choose the property's workbook in the picker. Meses reads that workbook as the resident and payment ledger, and never changes it until you have reviewed and approved the proposed edits.
1. Connect Google and choose a file
- Connect Google from My account settings or the Google Sheets source card.
- After Google returns you to Meses, choose a Google Sheets file in the picker.
- Meses also accepts Excel workbooks (.xlsx and .xls) selected from Drive.
- Meses only accesses files you select or create with it.
2. Use the workbook as your ledger
- The selected workbook is used as the resident and payment ledger for the property and month you are setting up.
- Keep the original workbook in Drive; Meses reads it for reconciliation.
- Before writing anything, Meses shows you a change plan to review.
3. Know what is needed for sheet updates
- A flat roster or single-month sheet can support reconciliation when it contains the expected dues.
- Writing back needs Meses to know exactly where each payment goes in your sheet.
- Workbooks with one block per month and room to record payments usually qualify.
- If your layout does not, you can still reconcile and export the results without writing to the sheet.
4. Troubleshoot missing files
- If a file is missing, confirm that the connected Google account can open it.
- If the connection expired, disconnect and reconnect Google, then choose the file again.
- If the problem continues, see access, permissions and common issues.
